Adenosine (ATP)

Construct an adenosine triphosphate nucleotide structure molecular model with authentic Molymod Atoms & Bonds from Indigo Instruments

Adenosine triphosphate, commonly referred to as ATP, is an important biological molecule. It is THE energy molecule used by lifeforms from primitive bacteria to advanced eukaryotic plants, animals & fungi. ATP is essential to intracellular energy usage including muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation and synthesis of nucleic acids.

Adenosine consists of adenine, a purine nucleobase with joined 5 & 6 membered rings, ribose, a 5 carbon pentose sugar and three phosphate groups. It is also found in DNA, RNA & metabolic intermediates AMP & ADP.

You can view this biomolecule and rotate it to study its molecular structure using our 3D Molecular Model Builder.

A molecular model of Adenosine in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
