What is Aspartame?

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener made from two naturally occurring amino acids, phenylalanine & aspartic acid. To some, it has the most natural taste of all the sweeteners. Medical evidence suggests it is safe for most people except those with a rare genetic disease called phenylketonuria.
