Create a 3D molecular model of Benzyl dimethyl dodecyl ammonium chloride from Genuine Molymod Atoms & Bonds by Indigo
Benzyl dimethyl dodecyl ammonium chloride (benzododecinium chloride) is the organic chloride salt of benzododecinium. It consists of a methyl benzene (toluene) & a saturated 12 carbon aliphatic chain bound to a dimethyl ammonium. This defines it as a group II QUAT, more generally known as "alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chlorides" (aka ADBAC). The EPA lists 24 compounds with a general structure similar to benzalkonium chloride.
Note that all the student organic chemistry molecular model sets listed below can build this structure but may need additional parts. Enter this & just about any other quaternary ammonium chloride compound into our 3D Molecular Model Builder to get a complete components list.
Need to test the concentration level of this Quat in your disinfectant spray solution? Try our most popular 0-400ppm QAC QR Test Strips.
A molecular model of Benzyl dimethyl dodecyl ammonium chloride in the Molymod Hybrid Dome style uses the atoms & bonds in the parts list below. Our free 3D Molecular Model Builder shows other styles & allows for image rotation as an assembly guide.
