Quinine

Assemble a molecular model of Quinine utilizing Genuine Molymod Components by Indigo Instruments

What is Quinine?

Quinine is an alkaloid derived from the bark of the cinchona tree. It is used as an antimalarial drug, and is the active ingredient in extracts of the cinchona. It is also used in tonic water as a bitter and flavouring agent. Quinine glows (fluorescence) under UV light. The fluorescent emission peaks at around 460 nm (bright blue/cyan hue).

Common Quinine Medications:

  1. Qualaquin
  2. QM-260
  3. Quinamm
  4. Quiphile
  5. Quinine
  6. Chinin
  7. (8S,9R)-Quinine
  8. Chinine
  9. Chininum
  10. Quinina
