The #000 stainless steel insect pin has the smallest diameter of our 10 sizes of stainless steel, collector grade mounting pins. Their 0.25mm diameter is suited to members of the Mymaridae family, chalcidoid or fairy wasps.

Handling the flimsy #000 size pin can be a challenge so fine tipped locking hemostat curved Mosquito forceps may aid in accurate this pin for permanent collection. Similarly, you might find either a linen tester or pocket loupe helpful in viewing the insect.

I purchased these pins to use in scale modelling and not for the original purpose they were made for. The 000 gauge appear to be the perfect diameter to use as spokes for spoked wheels for Edwardian era aircraft in 1/48 scale. They are also perfect as push rods for 1/48 scale rotary aircraft engines.
