Insect Collection

This picture was sent to us courtesy of John Wiseman. The collection uses 6 sizes of stainless steel insect pins: 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 for the many different insects.

In John's own words: "I have been collecting insects off and on since I was a kid. I've been mostly interested in coleoptera and had an excellent contact in Thailand for specimens for many years. Last winter my wife and I decided to start mounting the butterflies and most of our winter evenings were spent preparing specimens. We mounted over 1500 and upon seeing the spectacular beauty and variety, we decided that we had to make a presentation in our gallery. This winter we have been working on beetles and have prepared over 600 specimens in the past month or so -- a great way to spend the winter evening hours. So for this summer we will be changing part of the butterfly exhibit to include a selection of beetles."
