The body centered tetragonal carbon lattice is hypothesized to form when diamond is compressed under high temperature and pressure; only$12.95. Another allotrope, BCC carbon is referred to as carbon sodalite which is similar in form to a zeolite structure by that name.
The body centered tetragonal structure shown is a recent discovery of another carbon allotrope. This material may even occur naturally on an exo-planet, Cancri e, some 40 light years from Earth.
