This nanoshell model is a modified buckyball. Instead of using the standard 3 prong blue and black 120 degree trigonal atoms, 5 prong blue trigonal bipyramidal atoms and black trigonal bipyramidal atoms are used so that the outer sphere can be secured to the inner sphere. The blue atoms in this case represent gold since non of our trigonal atoms are grey or silver colour.
