This 4H-SiC unit cell shows the crystal lattice structure of wurtzite which is a polymorph of silicon carbide. The 4H-SiC polytype exhibits high electron mobility which allows for faster switching speeds in high-power electronic devices and high-temperature applications due to its wide bandgap (3.26 eV).
The red tetrahedra in the model denote atoms that are in an adjacent unit cell .
