Alkynes differ from the other hydrocarbons, alkanes & alkenes, by having a functional group with at least one pair of triple bonded carbons denoted as C≡C . Triple bonded sp3 carbon atoms, are connected in the models using 3 35mm clear bonds while single carbon-carbon bonds use 30mm and carbon-hydrogen uses 20mm. Start with these simple 2 to 10 carbon straight chain compounds to learn basic IUPAC alkyne nomenclature: Ethyne (C2H2); Propyne (C3H4); 1-Butyne (C4H6); 1-Pentyne (C5H8); 1-Hexyne (C6H10); 1-Heptyne (C7H12); 1-Octyne (C8H14); 1-Nonyne (C9H16); 1-Decyne (C10H18).

I like the compact size, but the clear bonds are extremely annoying and difficult to use at first. I had to warm them up with a hair dryer to make them more flexible and even after some use, it still takes effort to push the atoms in. There must be a better balance of durability and usability.
Good kit. Fast delivery. It made visualizing chair/boat conformations easier, helped figuring out chirality and stereochem as well. The clear bonds however were sometimes hard to work with as you really need to shove the parts into them, and can slow you down if you're able to use a model kit in exams. As a result, I like using the more rigid grey bonds for most of my builds. The bendable bonds are good if you need to visualize your alkenes and alkynes.
Thanks for the feedback. The rigid bonds are great for chair boat flips but eventually wear out with repeated use. The clear bonds are tougher to work with at first but eventually loosen up enough to make them easier to use. They will last over many more uses which is good if you are taking chemistry as a degree.
