Buy Indigo® residual test strips for drinking water or organic food preparation equipment to determine residual free chlorine levels. They are ideal for anyone who is concerned about detecting trace (residual) levels of free chlorine to meet USDA or California organic certification regulations
The strips are very easy to use. Simply place a drop of water on the indicator pad of the test strip and then firmly press it against the food handling equipment, tables or skin of the fruit and vegetables themselves. If there is chlorine present, the strip will change color & can be compared to the color chart after 30 seconds.
You can also test for chlorine in drinking water if you have concerns about this. We have tried it on the water in our area & the chlorine is below the measurable limit of the strip.
Results in 30 seconds with readings at 0.5-1-3-5-10 ppm for free (available) chlorine bleach concentration. The detection limit of this strip is 0.25 ppm.
Indigo® test strips have a guaranteed minimum 3 year shelf life but are stored in desiccant lined vials so actual shelf life can be 5+ years.
The number of strips (100) per vial is approximate.
