If you work with large scale refrigeration units with lots of piping, finding a tiny ammonia refrigerant leak can be a challenge. Bromothymol blue infused cloth can detect minute amounts of ammonia (NH3) that could be escaping tiny, invisible holes in tubes or fittings.
This cloth measures 1 m2 cloth (40x40") and can be wrapped as is around any pipe, tank or fitting. Or, get maximum coverage for pipes by cutting into strips. You can wrap over 30 feet (10m) of 1" diameter pipe at a time. The cloth is reusable & could be enough to do an entire hockey rink!
If you are looking to simply confirm a leak of ammonia, click on phenolphthalein ammonia gas indicator test papers. Or, if you need a semiquantitative measurement for use in bioreactors or waste management, click on 0-100ppm ammonia test strips.
Want to see those invisible holes? Our Phone Camera Loupe “Dissecting Microscope” can help magnify enough to do just that. A suitable magnifier is listed in Related Products below..
